Funny Women Festival Show Tonight - 7:30pm at iO West

We're performing at the Funny Women's Festival in L.A. this Thursday, 12/3!

We are working on some exciting things for 2016 and to kick it all off - we have a show this Thursday, 12/3 in Los Angeles as part of Funny Women Festival.  The fest is filled with many other wonderful women (and men!) and starts on Wednesday, 12/2.
Come check us out on Thursday, 12/3 at 8pm at the Loft at iO West- 6366 Hollywood Blvd, 90028.
Tickets are $10 and also include the 7:30pm show.

Happy February!

It feels like Spring here and I can't even tell you how delightful that is. Let's hope it lasts!  We're still buzzing from the wonderful run with The +1s and this welcomed warmer weather is contributng to that buzz and our excitement of what's to come.
The next show on the calendar is for Fri, 2/17 with Cafe Cabaret. Before that, we've got some writing and planning to do and hopefully we will be sharing some great news with you shortly!

The +1s are shutting down their New Year's Resolutions Party tonight

It's not too late to start your new year's resolutions. If you wanted to dance more, laugh more, see more ladies, spend more time with fun people, get out of the house more, have more variety in your life, see/hear more music, see more comedy, see more improv, go to iO more and/or party more and more, than let us help you fulfill your goals!

While we hope to have more shows and extend our run at iO, this week marks an end to our "New Year's Resolution" party. We've learned a lot, shared a lot, and danced a lot. Tonight!

This morning, Mom started checking in with me rather early via calls and texts. "Don't go to work...forecast says travel only if emergency!!"   My family is still living in the warm bossom of the South and apparently is more in tune with Chicago's weather forecast than I am.   So cute.   As those of us who actually live here know, a little snow doesn't stop us.  It may make our commutes a little longer, but we won't be stopped.

HAPPY 2012!

We hope your holidays were great!  At the end of the year, we tried to take some time off from doing shows to prepare for the new year and that actually made us available for some other unique and fun experiences.

In December, we performed with some great Beast Women at the Fine Arts Building on Michigan.  Before this event, we'd never even stepped foot in the building and after this event  we didn't want to leave. There were over 9 floors of performances and artist displays. The sprirt of Christmas was alive and artsy and who doesn't love a pre teen choir singing Christmas tunes while their parents stand in front in support??  They were great and we so badly wanted to jump in and join them.  When we left for the evening, we couldn't stop singing "I really can't staaaaay" from Baby, It's Cold Outside. 

Ok, now let's catch up with 2012:

We're in a calender -as pinup girls!   And yes, you can purchase it!   In Chicago, you can find it at iO or Annoyance theatres.  If you're not in Chicago, contact the gals online at the 2 Dames site to purchase.  Slightly Altered was honored to represent funny women in Chicago, the month of August, Catholic school girls (shout out to Ms. Foley and Father Joe!), and to also support a great cause while doing so!  ALL proceeds from the sales go to familyrescueinc.org.  We'll post a pic to give you an idea of what's inside, but in the meantime, you can see individual shots of the girls here - consider these bonus pics.

The +1s are at iO, Thursdays in January

Slightly Altered has assembled an amazingly talented and funny bunch of ladies who bring comedy to the stage in their own  fun way.  The +1s is your one stop comedy show with stand-up, poetry, monologues, music and of course, improv, all in one night.   While you can find these individual performers doing their own thing in venues across Chicago, The +1s make it easy to catch this dynamic blend of powerhouse performers under one roof.   You may think you've seen a variety act before, but you haven't seen one like this.  With scenes flowing seamlessly into the next piece, it's more of an experience than a show. And you, the lucky audience/party guests are invited to join in the fun.
